Tomorrow is Another Day
A downloadable prototype for Windows
This is a prototype for a game called "Tomorrow is Another Day". It's based on my experience of being trans... and what could have been. I'm hoping the full game could be more feature-rich, with the player having to juggle multiple needs at once with limited energy.
You've recently become aware of a small nagging feeling in the back of your head. You don't really know what it is, and you're not sure you want to know what it is. You could spend some of your day thinking about it, or you could to it tomorrow. After all, tomorrow is another day.
There are five points in the day you find yourself:
Morning: You can brush your teeth, make your bed, or get into clothes other than your pajamas.
Class: You can either take notes on what the teacher is saying, just follow along and listen to the teacher, or just space out, staring out the window.
Free Period: You can either do your homework, talk with friends, or just find a good book to read.
After-School: You can go out with some friends, do your homework, or play some video games.
Bedtime: You can take a shower, do some reading in bed, or clean your room. For every day you don't clean your room, the room becomes messier.
You start the game in the morning of the first day, with 20 energy. As you progress through the day, you'll spend energy to do the various tasks you might wanna do. Any energy you didn't expend will be put towards exploring these thoughts that have been nagging you.
Be careful, though. Every day, it becomes more of a burden to not put enough energy into those thoughts. It starts consuming you, making it harder to do regular tasks. If things start getting too hard... well...
The current version of this game has no winning. I wish it did, but I couldn't reasonably find a way to fit an end goal in with the time I had.
